This blog came out of from my experiences. I fled Jamaica after receiving harassment and eventually death threats linked to the government of the day in Jamaica. This blog came out of my experiences. I fled Jamaica in the 1990s. This is my 3rd decade in Canada. I felt it is appropriate to reflect not so much on my time in Canada (which has been mostly good) but rather to reflect on what could have been if I had remained in Jamaica and the larger question of what could have been if Jamaica had chosen a different path of development. Everybody in Jamaica knows the problems of Jamaica: crime, corruption and poverty. The last thing we need is another forum focusing on Jamaica’s problems. I will focus on suggesting solutions. I first started by just emailing my thoughts to my email contact list. The response was encouraging so I have gone on to do a blog as suggested by one of my audience.
